Roundtable discussion at the 2023 annual meeting of the American Political Science Association in Los Angeles, CA, organized through the APSA Foreign Policy section as part of the Foreign Policy in a Diverse Society (FPSD) project.

The roundtable, co-chaired by the FPDS team, brought together junior scholars engaged in international relations research related to race, gender, and other identity categories using a wide range of research methods. The discussion focused on three questions: What are the most pressing questions such research should explore? What theoretical perspectives and empirical approaches are most promising to answer these questions? Which potential pitfalls should scholars try to avoid?
